Popular European airline suspends Dubai flights for entire summer season
Travellers offered refunds, vouchers and flexible ticket changes
DUBAI – A major European airline has suspended all flights to and from Dubai for the entire summer season, adding to growing disruption across regional air travel networks.
Greek flag carrier Aegean Airlines confirmed that services to Dubai will remain cancelled until Monday, August 31, 2026, with evening arrivals included in the updated schedule. The move affects one of the popular summer travel routes used by residents and tourists travelling between the UAE and Europe.
The airline said flights are now not expected to resume before September 2026. Passengers impacted by the cancellations have been offered refunds or credit vouchers for future travel. Travellers can also change their tickets without reissue charges or fare differences for new travel dates up to and including Friday, July 31.
More suspensions
Dubai International Airport has also seen other international carriers revise schedules in recent days. Dutch carrier KLM announced a further suspension of Dubai flights until Sunday, June 28.
Meanwhile, Turkish airline Pegasus has cancelled all Dubai flights scheduled up to and including Monday, June 1. The airline has introduced flexible travel options for affected passengers, including full refunds, open-ticket conversions free of charge and complimentary flight date changes on the same route.
Regional flights
The suspension comes amid continuing operational disruptions linked to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. Aegean Airlines also confirmed cancellations on routes to Tel Aviv until June 26, while services to Erbil and Baghdad remain suspended until July 2. Flights to Beirut are scheduled to resume from May 12, while Riyadh and Amman services are expected to restart from May 21 onwards.
Airlines continue advising passengers to monitor updated schedules and travel advisories as regional airspace conditions remain under close review.
